Development Updates

Gecko 1.9

• M9 blocker report
  • ~ 29 M9 Gecko 1.9 blockers (~17 have patches)
  • ~ 200 untriaged blocking nominations

Firefox 3

• M9 Schedule
  • Code freeze scheduled for Wed, Oct 17th
  • Tree threat level has been kept at "orange" due to the number of outstanding M9 blocker bugs that need to land before freeze, but as we approach freeze, expect an announcement (in mozilla.dev.planning and on the Mozilla Developer News blog) about moving to "red"
    • M9 blocking bug report:
      • ~ 84 M9 Firefox 3 blockers (~37 have patches)
      • ~ 13 untriaged nominations (being triaged daily by beltzner/mconnor)

• Ryan Flint has joined the Firefox 3 front end team, and will primarily be focusing on the front end performance goals

• Dão Gottwald has also joined the front end team, and will be assisting in front-end fit & finish work, as well as visual polish and "delight" aspects.

IT

• Stage migration continues - test upload machine available. Dave to send out details this week.
• SSL cert policy
  • Production sites - paid ssl certs
  • Dev/Test/Staging - internally signed certs
  • Docs to come on how to import our root cert, generate csr, etc.

• No updates this week.

Webdev, Add-ons, AMO

• AMO
  • Update went out last Thursday, mostly l10n updates
  • FAMO 0.5 was released last week
  • AMO API work underway
  • AMO redesign almost through design phase
• Plugins
  • Sent out email to all plugin vendors about updating PFS
  • Plugin updater hit some snags w/ Java but moving forward -- thanks to stephend and QA for finding this
• Bouncer
  • Bouncer can now check locales thoroughly, thanks to wenzel
  • Still working on hash checks via byte-ranges
• Support
  • Triage and breakdown of tech requirements for SUMO projects w/ djst
• Misc
  • Reviewed protocol handler demo app, which should be public this week
  • Set up some CRM stuff for sethb
• Breakpad/Socorro
  • Things were quiet as Q3 was winding down
  • Triage this week, and Q4 planning underway

  • Lars Lohn is back on the team (contractor) and will be working on the AUS3 prototype
